Tool data
The water-eject tone and listening sample are generated locally by browser code. The tool does not access or record the microphone. The “Clearer / Same / Worse” choice is kept only in page memory and disappears when the page is closed or refreshed.
Cookies and analytics
SpeakerEject uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics script, to count visits and understand which pages and tools are useful. It measures aggregated page views, referrers, and country-level statistics without cookies, cross-site tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting, and it does not build a profile of you. SpeakerEject installs no advertising scripts and sets no application cookies.
We also count page views and anonymous tool actions, for example pressing a play button or downloading a sound file, together with the page and your country. For page views we also record the domain of the website that linked to us and any campaign tag in the link, such as utm_source. This uses no cookies, IP address or identifier, and we use it only to see which tools people use and how they find the site.
Advertising
SpeakerEject has applied to show ads served by Google AdSense. No advertising code runs on the site yet and no ads are shown. The rest of this section explains how Google's ads will work once they are switched on, so you can read it before that happens.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
When your browser loads a Google ad, it sends Google information such as the address of the page you are reading and your IP address. Google explains what it collects and how it uses it in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
You can turn off personalized ads at Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other companies' use of cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info. With personalization off, you may still see ads, but Google does not use your information to build an ad profile or personalize them.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's Privacy & messaging tool, a consent platform certified by Google, asks for your choice before cookies or ad identifiers are used to personalize ads. If you decline or make no choice, Google may still show limited or non-personalized ads, which do not use your personal data for personalization. The tools work the same either way. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page once ads are switched on.
Visitors in US states with privacy laws
If you visit from a US state whose law lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, such as California, Google's Privacy & messaging tool shows you how to opt out. When you opt out, Google does not choose ads based on your past browsing.
Other ad companies and ads.txt
If ads are switched on, Google will be the only company serving ads on SpeakerEject unless this policy is updated first. If another ad company is ever added, it will be named here, with a link to its site, before its ads appear. The site publishes an ads.txt file at speakereject.com/ads.txt, a public list of the companies allowed to sell ad space here, so advertisers can check who is authorized to sell ad space on this site.
Directory badges
The home page shows a row of badges and links for software and launch directories where SpeakerEject is listed or has applied to be listed. The badges are images that your browser loads directly from each directory's own servers, not from SpeakerEject. When the home page loads, those servers can see your IP address, your browser and device details, and that the request came from speakereject.com. SpeakerEject does not control what each directory does with that request, and each directory has its own privacy policy. They are images and links only: they do not run scripts on this site. Badges appear on the home page only; no other page loads them. You can avoid these requests by blocking third-party images in your browser or with a content blocker, or by using any other page of the site. A badge does not mean a directory has approved or endorsed SpeakerEject. Clicking one takes you to that directory's site.
Hosting and security logs
The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process routine request and security data such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, and timestamps to deliver and protect the site under its own privacy terms.
Messages sent to hello@speakereject.com are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the publisher's inbox. The message, sender address, headers, and any information you include are processed to receive and answer the email. Send only information needed for your request.
